How great it is to meet and discuss kingdom business! Having started off this chapter online, it still is intimidating concluding everything virtually. That prompted us to plan for this meeting, if only to put faces behind the powerful voices and suggestions during the meetings that have been ongoing in the economy mountain platform.
So, on the long-awaited day, Saturday June 10th, 2023, at Sweetly Defined Restaurant at Akamwesi Mall in Kyebando – along Gayaza road, a few members of the Economy Mountain responded to this invitation. Meeting was to start at 11am.
By midday, we were a total of 16 people who had finally showed up. We introduced ourselves with an intention to get to know each other better. Put faces to the names that we have been seeing on the platform from time to time.
We ate together (as each one could afford), laughed together, discovered that many knew each other from over 20 years ago, and had fellowship together. What was meant to be a one-and-a-half-hour meet-and-greet time extended to a little over three hours.
It was amazing that a number of those who showed up have not been verbally or even consistently active on the platform (or weekly meetings), but it was clear that they have been following developments on the group. It was really nice to see each one that showed up.
We each spoke about what we do and discovered that there were a number of different professions in such a small number. These included accountants, business advisors, civil engineers, teachers (more like teaching consultants), architects, farmers (engaged in value addition) and business agents (promoting products on behalf of other companies).
Imagine if we could all excel and do business God’s way. Each one talked about their vocation(s); where they need help as well as how we can all benefit from their service and/or product.
We also shared where we live, and our family situation as well as where we needed support. Afterall when the family is stable, businesses succeed.
A number of us brought along our products for sale among the team. Coffee powder, coffee seed (ready to grind to powder), dried pineapple, a water filtration system, mushroom powder, financial services, accounting services, educational services, and potential for people to buy a shell of a house around Gayaza for 70m (an upcoming project).
Many products were sold, and contact information was shared among the people. Referrals happened right away for some that needed them too.
It was originally intended for people to simply come together to meet each other. That is all. But it turned out to be much more beneficial for those who came. Time flew by so fast!!
We are grateful for those who were able to attend. We hope to have several more. Subsequent meetings will be much more structured. We shall continue to hear from each other: products and services as well as profiling someone to speak about their line of work. See you when we meet again.
